Nikki Tucker put together an outstanding basketball season in which she knocked down two of the biggest free throws in Marshall High School history.
The junior led the Redhawks to the 2015-16 MHSAA Class B state championship in what was a memorable season – highlighted by her two free throws with 1.4 seconds left in the state semifinals that led Marshall to a narrow one-point victory.
Tucker, Marshall’s leading scorer and rebounder this season, has been selected to the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan (BCAM) “Best” list for Class B.
After losing its first game of the season, Marshall finished the year on a 26-game winning streak while winning the program’s first state championship. Tucker averaged a team-best 15 points in seven postseason games after averaging 11.3 points during the regular season.
