This week’s Super 25 girls high school rankings see Maryland private school powerhouse McDonogh now cemented at the top thanks to the program completing its seventh consecutive undefeated season and eighth straight IAAM “A” Conference title, which is now good for 155 wins in a row — an unthinkable achievement.
Elsewhere in the top five, undefeated Bayport-Blue Point out of Long Island slides into the top five after an upset in the Georgia state finale opens up a spot. Walton, who pulled off the upset over rival Milton in the Georgia 6A finale, now sits at No. 19, while Milton moves down to No. 20 this week.
An upset in Pennsylvania pulls a previous Super 25 mainstay out, while Glenelg, a public school power in Maryland, enters the Super 25 in the last spot thanks to a big upset win over previous No. 22 Marriotts Ridge to advance deeper into the state playoffs.
Expect more activity in the coming weeks as the playoffs really heat up in New York and New Jersey, which will bring a variety of Super 25 matchups between now and the end of the season.
