Mercer County (14-0) tops first Litkenhous Ratings

By

The Mercer County High School boys basketball team, at 14-0 the only undefeated team in Kentucky, is the No. 1 team in the state in the first Courier-Journal Litkenhous Ratings released Monday.

The Titans won a pair of holiday tournaments, beating Meade County 80-63 on Dec. 23 in the final of its own Farmers National Bank Clash of Titans and host Montgomery County 71-56 last Tuesday in the championship game of the Gateway Holiday Classic.

Mercer County features four players averaging double figures in scoring – sophomore Trevon Faulkner (19.4 ppg), junior Dylan James (15.1 ppg) and seniors Will Hager (13.2 ppg) and Malik Dow (12.4 ppg).
