Hours after adding Massachusetts running back AJ Dillon to its 2017 football recruiting class, Michigan gained a verbal commitment from three-star defensive back J’Marick Woods.
Woods tweeted a video of himself saying, “I’m proud to say that I’ll be furthering my education at the University of Michigan. Go Blue.”
The 6-foot-2, 187-pounder hails from Florence, Ala. He’s ranked the No. 19 recruit in the state and the No. 31 safety nationally by rivals.com.
Woods also reportedly has scholarship offers from Florida, Mississippi State, Penn State, Tennessee and Virginia Tech, among others.
He’s the eighth member of U-M’s class. Verbal commitments are nonbinding until national letters of intent are signed next February.
