Stratford remained unbeaten with Friday night’s 15-14, come-from-behind victory at Goodpasture.

A look at the top small high school football teams in Middle Tennessee, as ranked by the USA Today Sports network. Small schools consist of teams from Class 1A, Class 2A, Class 3A and Division II-A.

1. Stratford (8-0): The Spartans, who have three one-point victories against region foes, have a week off before concluding the regular season with region games against Whites Creek and Greenbrier. Last week: 1. This week: Idle.

2. Fairview (7-0): The offense continues to carry the Yellow Jackets, who could be challenged by regional foes Camden and Harpeth over the final two weeks of the regular season. Last week: 2. This week: Friday vs. East Hickman. 

3. Waverly (7-1): The Tigers’ last six victories have all come by 19 points or more. Last week: 3. This week: Friday at Scotts Hill.

4. Forrest (8-0): The Rockets defense earned its fourth shutout in Friday’s 35-0 win over East Robertson. Last week: 4. This week: Idle.

5. Watertown (6-1): The Purple Tigers will have a two-week layoff before concluding the regular season against three region foes that have a combined record of 6-16. Last week: 5. This week: Friday vs. East Robertson.

6. Christ Presbyterian Academy (2-5): The Lions have allowed a total of seven points over the last two games, forcing four turnovers in Friday’s 28-0 shutout of East Nashville. Last week: 6. This week: Thursday vs. Greenbrier.

7. Nashville Christian (5-2): The Eagles’ final three opponents are all region foes who have a combined record of 14-2 against Region 5-1A competition. Last week: 7. This week: Friday at Gordonsville.

8. Wayne County (7-0): The Wildcats have eclipsed the 50-point mark in three consecutive games, piling up 513 yards of total offense in Friday’s rout of Houston County. Last week: 8. This week: Friday at McEwen.

9.  Goodpasture (5-2): The Cougars still have work to do in order to secure a playoff berth after suffering a loss to Stratford on a late touchdown Friday. Last week: 10. This week: Friday vs. East Nashville.

10. Donelson Christian Academy (5-2): Both of the Wildcats’ setbacks have come against one-loss teams. Last week: NR. This week: Friday vs Friendship Christian.
