Myles Miree, Beau English translate into win for No. 5 DeMatha (Md.) at Bishop McDevitt (Pa.)

Myles Miree ran in two touchdowns and Beau English had two touchdown passes to lead No. 5 DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.) to a 35-7 win Friday at Bishop McDevitt (Harrisburg, Pa.).

English, an Air Force commit, got the Stags going in the first half. He connected with Jermaine Johnson for a 30-yard touchdown pass on fourth-and-10 with 7:45 to go in the first quarter. A few minutes later, he found Dominic Logan-Nealy for a 26-yard touchdown pass on third-and-14 to put DeMatha up 14-0.

Miree scored on a 29-yard touchdown run in the third quarter and put the game away with a 6-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

McDevitt quarterback Tayvon Bowers ran it in from the 2-yard line to cut DeMatha’s lead to 14-7 early in the third quarter for his team’s only score.

DeMatha’s Kobe Boyd scored on a 1-yard touchdown run with 54 seconds left in the game.

DeMatha (3-0) will play Friday at McDonogh (Owings Mills, Md.).  McDevitt (1-2) will play Friday at Cumberland Valley (Mechanicsburg).
