Gilbert Christian (Ariz.) senior forward Mitch Lightfoot was excited to hear Monday that 6-foot-7 swingman Josh Jackson committed to Kansas.
Lightfoot, 6-9, who was the Gatorade Arizona Basketball Player of the Year, will team up with the No.1 player in the country next season at Kansas. Lightfoot signed with the Jayhawks in November.
Jackson, who played at Napa (Calif.) Prolific Prep, is rated as the nation’s No.1 prospect in the 2016 class by Rivals.com. He can sign his letter of intent on Wednesday, the start of the month-long spring signing period.
“I’m super excited,” Lightfoot texted. “He’s a beast. Next year is gonna be awesome.”
