An assistant football coach at Moriarty High in New Mexico has been arrested on multiple sexual assault charges, police told KRQE.
Authorities believe all the charges against assistant coach Damien Hyatt, who has been with the team for two years, come from incidents with female students. The victims are from age 14 to 17, police said.
The 23 charges include several counts of criminal sexual penetration, criminal sexual communication with a child, delinquency of a minor and bribing a witness, police said.
Hyatt, 24, was arrested Wednesday and is being held on $100,000 cash or bond. The Torrance County Sheriff’s Department deputies began investigating the case on Sept. 29.
He has been on leave since the investigation was opened.
