New Albany vaulted back to the top spot in the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association boys basketball poll.
The Bulldogs (11-1) received 12 of 22 first-place votes and took the No. 1 spot from North Central, which lost to Southport 70-48. New Albany, which was No. 3 last week, also jumped over Merrillville, which dropped from No. 2 to No. 4 after its first loss.
The Bulldogs, who have won eight in a row since their only loss to current No. 2 Pike on Dec. 12, also owned the top spot in the poll on Nov. 30. The Associated Press Class 4-A poll will be released later this week.
New Albany will host Charlestown on Tuesday and visit Silver Creek on Friday.
