The latest Super 25 boys lacrosse rankings provided by 3dRising.com feature an assortment of changes including a new look to the Top 5 after some key results in Maryland’s powerful MIAA ‘A’ Conference helped reshape the overall list.

The Hill Academy (Vaughn, Ontario), a 12-4 winner over No. 11 Culver Academy (Ind.) in Michigan last weekend, remains the No. 1 squad and now sits at 7-0. Victor (N.Y.) remains at No. 2 at 5-0.

But thanks to the shakeup caused by a major New England result — Trinity-Pawling (N.Y.) defeating Deerfield (Mass.) 12-11 in overtime — Connecticut’s New Canaan (five-goal winners against Brunswick last week) moves up to No. 3, while Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.) comes in at No. 4 and Bullis (Potomac, Md.) rounds out the Top 5.

With McDonogh (Owings Mills) defeating Loyola-Blakefield (Towson) 13-11 on April 19 and Boys’ Latin (Baltimore) edging Calvert Hall (Baltimore) 6-5 on the same day, the MIAA’s representation in the Super 25 sees the Eagles at No. 6, the Lakers at No. 7, the Dons at No. 9 and the Cardinals at No. 10.

New Jersey has two of its powerhouse enter the Super 25. Undefeated Summit, currently 8-0, enters the rankings at No. 23. The Hilltoppers hold a key, triple overtime victory over in-state rival Delbarton (Morristown), a school that enters the rankings at No. 24 with a big victory against previous No. 15 Malvern Prep out of the Philadelphia area.

St. Anthony’s, one of Long Island’s strongest programs each year, enters the Super 25 fold at No. 17 with a convincing win against a reigning New York State champion and a perfect record thus far at 7-0. Ward Melville, a 13-12 winner over previous No. 19 Smithtown East (N.Y.), enters the ranking at No. 19 just in front of the Bulls.

A host of important matchups are on deck for this week, including what should be an exciting meeting in New England between No. 16 Deerfield and No. 16 Taft School. On April 23, a Super 25 Tri-State showdown sees No. 24 Delbarton hosting No. 17 St. Anthony’s (N.Y.).
