The Section V Football Hall of Fame will grow with former Webster Schroeder/Webster running back Carl Garritano leading the pack of 13 to be inducted April 7.
Garritano, who played from 1999-02, is fourth on Section V’s list of all-time leading rushers with 5,210 yards, The two-time Democrat and Chronicle All-Greater Rochester Player of the Year’s 76 touchdowns are third in the history of area high school football.
There are a total of eight players in the induction class, including Garritano: Ted Adams (Irondequoit), Joe Bock (East Rochester), George Bosseler (Batavia), Clint Hurtt (Gates Chili), Mike Latek (Eastridge), Mitch Lee (Brighton) and Ronald Poles (Caledonia-Mumford).
The class also includes Wade Bianco (Irondequoit coach), Gary Fredericks (Caledonia-Mumford assistant coach), Sam Morabito (East Rochester assistant coach), Anthony DeJohn (Finger Lakes Chapter of Certified Football Officials) and Joe Munno (contributor).
The induction ceremony for the group is at the RIT Inn and Conference Center.
