Give this much to Jon Kitna: He knows how to fire up a rivalry with a good-natured bit of opportunism.

As reported by the Dallas Morning News, Kitna was eating at a local Buffalo Wild Wings when he noticed a crew of the best players from Waxahachie’s heated rival, Ennis. Kitna came up and said hi to the teens — including junior star Tycen Thompson — and challenged the teens to Buffalo Wild Wings’ Blazing Challenge, where a brave individual attempts to eat 12 of the chain’s wings soaked in blazing sauce in six minutes.

Ennis’ Faybian Morris apparently accepted the challenge. It didn’t appear he quite completed the gastrointestinal fire drill, though not for lack of trying. Just check out his sweat-soaked shirt in the video below.

Meanwhile, Kitna picked up the check for everyone and offered a philosophical take on rivalries that we could all stand to learn from.
