No. 12 Mill Creek (Hoschton, Ga.) kept its unbeaten season alive Friday night, and it did it with ease.
Mill Creek sprinted out to a 25-0 lead in a first quarter that included two forced safeties, en route to an impressive 62-0 win against Discovery (Lawrenceville, Ga.).
Edmond Graham closed the first quarter with a 22-yard touchdown run, the third of three Mill Creek touchdowns in the opening 12 minutes.
The Hawks didn’t let up after the opening quarter, finding the end zone three more times, including a fumble recovery by Ayoola Ogun-Semore for a touchdown. The defense was swarming all night, but that’s been a mainstay for Mill Creek.
Since giving up 27 points to Colquitt County (Ga.) in the season opener, the Hawks have only allowed 34 points over the past six games. They recorded their third safety of the game to make it 55-0.
The Hawks move to 7-0 with the win, and 3-0 in conference play. They meet Peachtree Ridge (Ga) next week.
