No. 2 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) kept its perfect season alive in convincing fashion with a 38-0 victory against Oxbridge Academy (West Palm Beach) on Thursday.
With three touchdowns, IMG quarterback Kellen Mond set the school record for total touchdowns in a season. Mond has 15 passing scores and eight rushing touchdowns, which is a program record for rushing scores by a quarterback. Shea Patterson set the school record last season with 21 total touchdowns (18 passing and three rushing).
The Ascenders (6-0) scored on their first possession on a 9-yard run by Mond and added touchdowns in the second quarter on a Mond 50-yard pass to Emmanuel Greene and a 21-yard run by Asa Martin. IMG added a field goal in the third quarter by Cooper Graham and then Mond ran for a 41-yard touchdowns.
Backup quarterback Zach Annexstad capped the scoring with a 10-yard run in the fourth quarter.
IMG posted 372 yards of offense to Oxbridge’s 174, including 52 through the air.
Oxbridge entered the game with a 6-0 record and having allowed only 4.3 yards per game.
The Ascenders travel to Trinity Christian (Jacksonville) on Oct. 21.
