No. 4 DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.) came into its game Friday averaging 45 points a game and the Stags had little trouble at winless St. Mary’s Ryken (Leonardtown), winning 56-12.
DeMatha also had been allowing its opponents 15.5 points per game, which will decrease again given St. Mary’s Ryken’s total.
DeMatha led 42-6 at the half and rolled from there.
The Stags (5-0) next play host to No. 22 St. John’s College (Washington, D.C.) on Friday. The Knights (0-5) play Oct. 1 at Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.).
