Aquinas running back Kyshaun Bryan put the Raiders up 7-0 on their first series with a 35-yard run. After a Mater Academy field goal, Allen made it 14-3 for the Raiders when he connected with Army All-American wide receiver Mike Harley for a 15-yard touchdown pass. Epstein’s 1-yard run put the Raiders up 20-3 and the rout was on.
Marco Salani added a 28-yard field goal and the Raiders led 28-3 at the half. The Lions’ only touchdown came early in the third quarter on a 12-yard pass from Kaywon Hanna to Marcus Lodge. Epstein answered right back for Aquinas on a 13-yard run to put the Raiders up 30-10.
Allen made it 37-10 on a 22-yard pass to Jonathan Moore. On the Raiders’ next series, Allen and Moore connected again, this time for a 23-yard touchdown pass. Sam Llewellyn had a 2-yard run for a touchdown to put the Raiders up 50-10 early in the fourth quarter.
Aquinas (10-2) will play Venice on Friday in a state semifinal. The loss ends the season for the Lions (11-2) and former Aquinas coach Rocco Casullo, who fell 60-7 in last year’s 7A playoffs to the Raiders.
