North Webster moved into the second round of the LHSAA Class 3A state playoffs with an 18-0 win against Richwood.

T.J. Hawthorne led the Knights (7-4) with two scores on runs of 3 and 35 yards, while Sam Moddisette scampered 65 yards for another touchdown.

Coach John Ware’s club will have to travel to No. 3-seeded Kaplan, a 44-7 winner over Eleanor McMain, next Friday.

St. Augustine 27, Byrd 15: At New Orleans, the Yellow Jackets (4-7) put up a good fight in their Division I matchup, but the Purple Knights (7-4) had too much to counter with.

John Ehret 48, Haughton 27: At Marrero, the Bucs (5-6) had a long road trip end up on the wrong side of the ledger against one of the state’s best teams in the Patriots (9-2).

Sulphur 45, Airline 35: At Sulphur, the Vikings (6-5) led for most of the game but the Tors (8-3) were able to pull it out in the second half.

East Ascension 38, Ruston: At Ruston, the Bearcats (8-3) lost in surprising fashion to No. 27-seeded East Ascension (4-6).

Jena 56, BTW 13: At Jena, the Lions (4-7) closed out the Antonio Ward chapter with a lopsided road loss in the 3A playoff contest versus Jena (9-2).

Northwest 54, Mansfield 20: At Opelousas, the Wolverines’ (4-7) magic ended on the road in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs against the Raiders (11-0)

Rayville 66, North Caddo 60: At Vivian, the Rebels (6-5) got a home playoff game but lost in a high-scoring battle with the Hornets (4-7).

St. Helena 57, Lakeview 0: At Greensburg, the Hawks (10-1) scored early and often against Lakeview (3-8).

Mangham 31, Red River 0: At Coushatta, the Bulldogs (7-4) closed out the season with a surprising home loss in the 2A opener.

Many 57, General Trass 6: At Many, the Tigers (11-0) kept winless General Trass (0-11) winless with the easy win.

Plain Dealing 44, South Cameron 14: At Plain Dealing, the Lions found the scoring easy against the Tarpons (4-7) from Grand Chenier.

Delta Charter 28, Homer 26: At Homer, the Pelicans (3-8) came close to winning their first-round state playoff game but Delta Charter pulled it out.

Arcadia 34, D’Arbonne Woods 22: At Arcadia, the Hornets (9-2) moved into the second round of the Class 1A state playoffs with the solid win against the Wolves (1-10).

Varnado 44, Ringgold 6: At Angie, the Wildcats (7-3), dispatched the Chiefs (3-8) as expected.

Lincoln Prep 41, Basile 12: At Grambling, the Kittens (5-6) advanced in the Class 1A state playoffs by topping Basile (3-8).

St. Frederick 41, St. Mary’s 29: At Monroe, the Tigers (6-5) turned their season around at one point, but the Warriors (7-4) finished them off the Division IV contest.

Cedar Creek 33, Vermilion Catholic 0: At Ruston, the Cougars (7-4) moved into the second round of the Class A playoffs with the win over the Eagles (4-7).
