Castle High School senior Jack Nunge announced on Twitter Sunday night that he has committed to play basketball for the University of Iowa.
Nunge, a 6-foot-10 forward/center and a 4-star recruit according to 24/7 Sports Composite, received interest from several Division I schools. His scholarship offers included Evansville, Vanderbilt, Nebraska, Georgia Tech and Ball State.
Nunge, who was an Indiana Junior core All-Star this past summer, averaged 19.3 points, 11.4 rebounds and 3.7 blocks per game last year for the Knights. Castle finished with a 19-6 record under coach Brian Gibson and lost to Reitz in the Sectional 16 final.
The Iowa Hawkeyes went 22-11 last year and finished tied for third in the Big Ten regular season standings. Iowa lost in the second round of the NCAA Tournament to eventual champion Villanova.https://twitter.com/jnunge30/status/775127514431754241
