GREENSBORO, N.C. – With just four days left in the NCAA’s Early Signing Period, Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) point guard Matt Coleman just doesn’t have that feeling that will confirm his decision to commit to a college.
The 6-foot-2 floor general is down to Stanford, Duke and Texas.
“I’m just not ready to make that decision,” said Coleman, who posted 16 points and five assists to help the No. 2 Warriors roll past Cannon School (Concord , N.C.) 84-55 Saturday at the Phenom Hoops National Showcase. “I just feel like, when that time comes, I’ll know and I just don’t know at this point.”
Coleman, who is ranked No. 27 overall in the ESPN 100, has taken official and unofficial visits to each school and said that it only made the decision “that much harder.”
“You’ve got three great schools, and it’s like you can’t go wrong whichever school you go with,” Coleman said. “I think I just need to step away from everything for a little bit and focus on getting a strong start to the season. I’m not gonna say my recruitment is on pause, but I’m just taking a second to take it all in. I don’t see myself waiting too late. Hopefully I’ll end up committing by December.”
