Kyle Haak has been a contributor on the ice in his debut season at the Air Force Academy.
And the latest contributions from the Okemos High School graduate came last weekend and helped the Falcon hockey team earn a weekend split with Robert Morris.
Haak had a shorthanded goal and an assist in the Falcons’ 4-1 victory over Robert Morris on Saturday. His goal was featured as the No. 2 hockey play of the week by NCAA.com.
Haak is tied for sixth on Air Force with 15 points – seven goals and eight assists – this season. The Falcons are 16-11-5 overall and tied for second in the Atlantic Hockey Conference entering their final regular-season series this weekend.
WESTERN MICHIGAN: Freshman forward Breanna Mobley (Waverly) has continued to make an impact on the court for the Bronco women’s basketball team and had career-highs with 26 points and 13 rebounds in an 80-70 loss to Northern Illinois on Wednesday. Mobley has three double-doubles in her last four games for Western, which is 15-12 overall. She is averaging 7.2 points and 6,1 rebounds.
OAKLAND: Jalen Hayes (Sexton) has nine double-doubles in Horizon League play for the Oakland men’s basketball team, which is 20-10 overall and 12-5 in the conference. The latest double-double came Sunday when Hayes had 15 points and 13 rebounds in a win over Illinois-Chicago. Hayes is the second-leading scorer for the Grizzlies at 13.9 points. He also averages a team-best 8.7 rebounds.
MICHIGAN: Adam Coon (Fowlerville) has a team-high 79 dual points for the No. 8-ranked Wolverine wrestling team. The junior heavyweight is 15-1 this season. Logan Massa (St. Johns) owns a 13-1 record this season at 165 pounds for U-M.
STANFORD: Katie Dudley (Okemos) has six goals this season for the No. 4-ranked Cardinal water polo team, which is 9-1. Dudley had a goal in Stanford’s wins over No. 5 UC Davis and Brown last weekend.
HILLSDALE COLLEGE: Makenna Ott (Haslett) has delivered two of the best performances of her debut season over the last two weeks for the Charger women’s basketball team. The freshman forward had a career-best 23 points in a loss to Northern Michigan on Feb. 13. She had 21 points in a setback to Grand Valley State on Saturday. Ott is averaging 19.3 points while shooting 51.2 percent from the field (21 of 41) over her last three games. She is averaging 9.0 points and 3.8 rebounds this season.
LAWRENCE TECH: Junior Christina Henry (Sexton) was selected first team all-Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference on Wednesday. She is averaging 12.2 points and 6.2 rebounds for NAIA No. 18-ranked Lawrence Tech, which is 22-3 overall and was the WHAC regular-season runner-up.
AQUINAS: Junior guard Jake Bullock (Lansing Catholic), who is averaging 18.9 points and 4.7 rebounds for the Saints, was named first team all-WHAC on Tuesday. He has helped Aquinas to a 20-10 record this season.
CORNERSTONE: Travis Wells (Eaton Rapids) was selected honorable mention all-WHAC in men’s basketball. Wells, who has started all 30 games, averages 11.0 points for the Golden Eagles.
ALBION COLLEGE: Jordan Herron (Holt) has 10 double-doubles this season for the Briton men’s basketball team, which is 14-11. The senior is averaging 11.0 points and 9.5 rebounds this season. He ranks second in school history in career rebounds.
