Who said that recruiting for the basketball Class of 2016 was done and dusted?
Oklahoma made light of that concept by adding a new point guard for the coming school year with the commitment of Jordan Shepherd, a 6-foot-3 Asheville N.C. native. The fifth commitment of Oklahoma’s class, Shepherd broke a prior commitment with James Madison to join the Sooners, announcing his decision with a personal message on Twitter.
Shepherd starred for Asheville Christian Academy as a senior, averaging 19.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 2.1 steals per game, according to OU Daily. Want a more vivid detail about what kind of performance to expect from Shepherd? Just check out his senior highlight reel below.
Naturally, Sooners fans might want to temper some expectations for the newly committed guard, though it would be foolish to underestimate his potential, regardless of how heavily he has been recruited.
