Senior Nicole Dietrich scored two goals and assisted on the third Thursday night to lead the Fort Collins High School girls soccer team to a 3-0 win over crosstown rival Poudre at French Field. Sophomore Riley Dietrich scored the Lambkins’ first goal in the ninth minute, with an assist from her older sister. Nicole made it 2-0 a minute later, scoring with an assist from Jordan Falsetto.
Evan Fischer assisted on Nicole Dietrich’s second goal in the 57th minute in the final game of the regular-season for Fort Collins (8-6-1, 7-4-1 Front Range League). Playoff pairings will be announced Sunday by the Colorado High School Activities Association.
Poudre (2-10-2, 2-8-2) wraps up its season Friday at Rangeview.
FAIRVIEW 2, ROCKY MOUNTAIN 1 – Mikayla Eccher scored a goal, with an assist from Sidney Maiava, for the visiting Lobos (11-3-1, 10-2 FRL), who dropped their second straight game following a nine-game winning streak.
Rocky Mountain began the week ranked No. 3 among the state’s Class 5A teams by CHSAA.now.
Tenth-ranked Fairview (10-3-2, 9-1-2) scored the winning goal in the second half.
FOSSIL RIDGE 1, BOULDER 0 – Kenady Adams scored a goal, with an assist from McKenna Schultz, to lead the SaberCats (9-4-1, 7-4-1 FRL) over the host Panthers (5-7-2, 5-6-1).
CORNERSTONE CHRISTIAN 4, HERITAGE CHRISTIAN 0 – Addison Cannon scored two goals to lead the visiting Bulldogs (12-3) past the Eagles at Landings Park. Justice Gearhard and Caralyn Kolberg also scored for Cornerstone Christian.
LEGACY 5, ROCKY MOUNTAIN 2 – Dario DeSantis homered and drove in two runs, and Joshua Chamberlain and Grant Hall combined on a one-hitter as the Lightning (13-3, 8-2 FRL) snapped the visiting Lobos’ nine-game winning streak.
Chris Diehl had the only hit for Rocky Mountain (12-5, 9-2), ranked No. 2 among the state’s Class 5A schools in this week’s Associated Press poll. Easton Dolan and Casey Kostrzewa scored the Lobos’ runs after drawing walks.
FAIRVIEW 7, FOSSIL RIDGE 5 – Jake Grillo had two hits and Noah Watters, Calvin Marley and Nick Girardi each drove in runs for the SaberCats (7-11, 5-6 FRL) in a loss to the host Knights (7-9, 4-6).
Mitch Tyse had three hits, including a home run and triple, for Fairview.
Fairview scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 4-2 lead, then added three more in the bottom of the fifth after Fossil Ridge had scored twice in the top of the frame. The Knights had 14 hits to the SaberCats’ seven.
MOUNTAIN RANGE 10, POUDRE 1 – Colton Timmons doubled twice and drove in two runs and the visiting Mustangs (8-8, 5-2 FRL) used a nine-run fourth inning to build a 10-0 lead and beat the Impalas (5-13, 2-5).
BROOMFIELD 16, FORT COLLINS 6 – Mason Speirs had three hits and Tanner Garner doubled twice and drove in four runs as the visiting Eagles (11-5-1, 10-1 FRL) rallied from 4-0 deficit after three innings to beat the Lambkins (11-6, 6-5).
Broomfield scored one run in the fourth, four in the fifth, sixth in the sixth and five in the seventh.
WINDSOR 2, ROOSEVELT 0 – Christian Montague pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts, and Blake Horton had two hits and an RBI for the host Wizards. Jake Greenwalt also had an RBI for Windsor.
RESURRECTION CHRISTIAN 5, FRONT RANGE CHRISTIAN 2 – Luke Fick struck out 16 batters and walked three in 6 1/3 innings, and Anthony Mascio had two hits and scored two runs for the Cougars in a win over the host Falcons.
Fick allowed two hits, while Nathan Wiggins, who got the final two outs, allowed one.
FORT COLLINS UNIFIED 11, LEGEND 5 – Will Johnston scored five goals and Jake Higdon had two goals and two assists for the Vipers (7-7) in a win over the host Titans (7-7).
Ben Rugh had one goal and three assists, and Tate Martinez one goal and two assists for the Vipers. Alexander Winkler had 16 saves in goal for Fort Collins, and Zach Groff had two.
ROCKY MOUNTAIN 183, MONARCH 126 – Sawyer Kruse and Kyle Sherman won two individual events and swam on two winning relay teams apiece to lead the Lobos over the Coyotes at Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center in Thornton.
Kruse took the 50-yard freestyle in 23.41 seconds and the 500 freestyle in 5:06.24, while Sherman won the 100 butterfly in 57.37 and 100 backstroke in 1:00.04. Both swam on the Lobos’ winning 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay teams.
Rocky Mountain also picked up wins from Jalen Chudacoff in the 200 freestyle, Jared Wright in the 200 individual medley, Jack Miller in the 100 freestyle, Taylor Scott in diving and from its 200 freestyle relay team.
WINDSOR 126, MOUNTAIN VIEW 56 – Matthew Fries earned a state-qualifying time in the 500 freestyle, winning in 5:31.16, and Colby Horton won two individual events and swam on two winning relays for the Wizards in their final home meet of the season.
Garrett Ludwick (200 freestyle), Jeff Borrett (100 freestyle), Riley Miller (100 backstroke) and Ethan Hansbury (100 breaststroke) also won individual events for Windsor.
Ethan Ragatz was recognized as a four-year swimmer for the Wizards during senior day activities, and Travis Chadwick and Guy Peters were honored as three-year swimmers, coach Trevor Timmons said.
