The Fossil Ridge High School girls tennis team used strong doubles play to beat Poudre 5-2 Wednesday.

Fossil Ridge swept the four doubles matches, led by the No. 1 doubles team of Emma Houghton and Erica Wiley which beat Anna Hoffman and Olivia Thero 6-3, 6-1. The No. 2 doubles team of Haley Crews and Lydia Supe’ won 6-2, 6-3. The No. 3 team of Erinn Hogan and Lindsay Noble won 6-4, 7-5, and Kim Collamore and Cambri Van Tassell won at No. 4 doubles, 6-3, 6-0.

Poudre scored the wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles.

Impalas No. 1 singles player Ky Ecton defeated Shawnea Pagat 3-6, 6-3, 7-5, while Alessia Fabiano won at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-4 over Tara Teslow.

MONARCH 4, FORT COLLINS 3 — No. 2 and No. 3 singles players, Delsie Johnson and Emily Hay-Arthur, won their respective matches, as did the No. 2 doubles team of Holly Faust and Nicole Pihlstrom.

GREELEY WEST 6, ROCKY MOUNTAIN— The lone Lobos’ win came from the No. 4 doubles team of Ana Elliott and Sakiko Miwa.

BOYS LACROSSE 

COLUMBINE 9, FORT COLLINS UNIFIED 8 — Fort Collins’ Ben Rugh had four goals and two assists, and Zach West added three goals, but it wasn’t enough to top Columbine.

Tate Martinez also had a goal and an assist, while Berg Lebahn dished one assist. Goalie Alex Winkler had eight saves.
