Ciana Curran went 3 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs and got the complete-game pitching victory to lead Fort Collins High School to a 10-5 win over Rocky Mountain High School on Wednesday.
Curran, a senior right-hander, pitched around five hits and five walks while striking out five and allowing five runs, three of them earned.
The Lambkins (5-4) jumped out to a 6-0 lead through two innings, then added two insurance runs in the sixth after Rocky (7-3) had battled back to make it 8-5.
Ryleigh Seale and Emmy Anderson each backed Curran with 2-for-3 days at the plate, while Jen Dudash had three RBIs. Seale and Bailey Deal each drove in two.
Dani Young went 3 for 4 to lead the Lobos’ offense, while Sidney Organ and Kelli Schueler each drove in two runs.
WINDSOR 3, HOLY FAMILY 2 — Windsor scored two second-half goals to post a 3-2, come-from-behind win Wednesday over Holy Family in boys soccer.
The Wizards improved to 2-4.
FOSSIL RIDGE 7, LOVELAND 0 — Fossil Ridge improved to 14-1 with a 7-0 victory over Loveland on Wednesday in boys tennis.
The SaberCats dropped just four games over the course of seven matches. Jackson Holland and Arjun Gupta each swept matches at Nos. 1 and 2 singles, respectively, while Fossil’s four doubles teams dropped just one game.
ROCKY MOUNTAIN 4, FORT COLLINS 2 — Rocky Mountain won three of the four doubles matches to help clinch a victory over Fort Collins on Wednesday.
The No. 1 singles match between Rocky’s Trent Vibbard and Fort Collins’ James Hunsinger will be played Monday.
Rocky’s Ruslan Fleischman and Joe Rademacher won in a third-set tiebreaker 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 (3) over Fort Collins’ Alex Doherty and Josh Laskie at No. 4 doubles.
Both Fort Collins wins came in three-set matches.
