Stifling defense and a well-balanced attack led the Rocky Mountain High School girls basketball team to a 53-30 win at Eaglecrest on Saturday.
Sara Jones had 17 points, Lena Long-Shore had 8 and Kiley Towne, Gabby McDonald and Victoria Graham all scored 7 points each. The win in the first game after the winter break moves Rocky Mountain to 9-1.
The Lobos held Eaglecrest (4-4) to 15 points through the first three quarters.
BOYS BASKETBALL
FORT COLLINS 78, CHEYENNE EAST 49 — Damien Murillo hit five 3-pointers and scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Lambkins (5-3) to a home win. Jacob Pfaffinger added 18, and Brian Read had 10.
The Lambkins led 40-23 at halftime and cruised to the easy win.
WRESTLING
WINDSOR AT CAT CLASH — The Wizards won every dual to take first at the Cat Class Quadrangular at Western Nebraska Community College. Windsor beat Jefferson (Colorado) 60-16 in the first round, Scottsbluff (Nebraska) 48-27 in the second round and Lexington (Nebraska) 53-28 in the third round.
As part of the Bluff Brawl, Windsor won two more duals, beating Monarch (Colorado) 57-31 and Hot Springs (South Dakota) 57-16. Windsor is ranked No. 3 in Class 3A in the latest On The Mat rankings.
