ATHENS – Quincy put together a quarter to remember against Athens with an impressive 24 points in the second quarter in a 38-0 win over Athens in Big Eight Conference action on Friday.

The Orioles ran the ball 50 times for an outstanding 371 yards, and all five of their touchdowns came on the ground.

Ryan Gibson was the leading rusher for Quincy with 11 carries for 136 yards and three scores. Gibson also had 39 receiving yards to boost his total yards to 175.

For Athens, Joe Wheeler had a game high 13 tackles.

Quincy is now 3-0 and next plays at Union City on Sept. 16.

Athens drops to 1-2 and plays at Springport on Sept 16.
