Former Smoky Mountain standout Cal Raleigh and the Florida State baseball team won an NCAA Regional on their home field Sunday.
Raleigh was one of six Seminole players to homer.
The freshman catcher and 2015 Citizen-Times All-WNC Player of the Year is hitting .308 with 50 RBIs, 10 home runs, 16 doubles and a triple for the Seminoles (40-20). He has been walked 38 times.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida State hit six home runs, including two by Dylan Busby, as it routed South Alabama 18-6 to win the NCAA Tournament’s Tallahassee Regional on Sunday.
Jackson Lueck, Cal Raleigh, Tyler Holton and Hayden Kelly also homered for the Seminoles (40-20), who won their 36th regional title and are in a super regional for an NCAA-leading 15th time.
Busby, who was named the regional’s Most Outstanding Player, was 3 for 6 with three RBIs. The sophomore first baseman was 8 for 17 in three regional games with two home runs and eight RBIs.
John Sansone went 3 for 5 with three RBI and Cole Sands (6-6) allowed only one run in five innings.
South Alabama, which ends the year 42-22, had a leadoff home run by Travis Swaggerty, who went 3 for 5. Ben Gann had a two-run homer in the ninth. Hunter Soleymani (4-4) allowed six runs in two-plus innings.
