Deejay Dallas here, back at it again with yet another diary. Let me start off by saying that is has been way too long since I have written and updated you on what has been happening. Last time I wrote was all the way back in December and I was preparing for the biggest game of my life – the state championship. The game didn’t go the way our team hoped and we ended up losing a close game, but we will learn from it and come back hungrier than ever next season.
I also decided to decommit from Georgia and take a step back and just enjoy the recruitment process. I want to way my options and give each school a chance and find out as much information about each school as I can, including Georgia. Now that you are all caught up, let’s get into this.
I want to speak a little bit about Georgia and the new staff that is there. I was a Dawg, I was 100 percent committed to The University of Georgia and was in love with everything about it, but after undergoing lots of changes I decided to decommit. Fast forward to present day and even more has changed with the UGA program and my recruitment. I have only been on one visit to Georgia since Coach Mark Richt was let go. That one visit was Junior Day, and I was there with all the top prospects in Georgia from the class of 2017. It was a fun day and I got to see a lot of friends that day and it was the first time the new staff was able to make a first impression. That being said, I rarely hear from the staff and they don’t make me feel like a priority, but it is understandable, I guess. It seems as though they have other priorities. I guess I’ll never know though, but I am going to see how the process plays out and I will always consider Athens a place where I can call home. Go Dawgs??
Now, let’s talk about the former Georgia head man, Mark Richt and the Miami Hurricanes. First off I have always loved Coach Richt, what is there not to love about the guy. He is a great coach, loves his players, and always pushes them to do their best on and off the field. I have been down to Coal Gables twice and it is an amazing place.
I can’t wait any longer for spring practice, I have been waiting for so long and now it’s just around the corner. It starts May 4 and I couldn’t be more excited to get back with my brothers on the field. Last year we went to the dome and lost, this year we are definitely going to use that as motivation. We want a different outcome this year, I want a ring before I graduate.
