Jashawn Sheffield here writing my second entry to my RecruitDiary. It has been quite a while since I last wrote, so I have a ton of stuff to share with everyone today. Football season has been over for quite a while now, but that doesn’t mean I don’t think about it all the time. I can’t wait for spring practice to start and to finally be able to put the pads back on. I can’t wait to be around my teammates and coaches every day and just get back to what I love doing and what is the most fun thing in the world.
I have visited Florida State, Clemson and South Carolina over the past couple weeks. My favorite visit so far has been the FSU one. I grew up going to games in Tallahassee, I went from sitting in the stands watching the Seminoles to sitting in Jimbo Fisher’s office talking about potentially being a ‘Nole. It was something I had always dreamed about. I got to meet Dalvin Cook, which was awesome since he is one of my favorite players on the team. I also got to talk to his brother James for a couple minutes. I always like to talk to other freshmen that are being recruited as highly as myself because we get to share our experiences and talk about the process. There are not a lot of kids like us so it is always fun to talk to people like James.
The Clemson visit was close to being my favorite and it was awesome in its own way. I went on the visit with a couple of my teammates, which is really special. The visits where I am with my teammates are always my fun and my favorite. The fact that my friends are with me for these experiences make them so much better, and something that we will never forget.
When I wrote my last diary I had only two offers. At the moment I have 12 from FSU, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Mississippi State, Tennessee, West Virginia, and South Carolina. I was probably most excited about the FSU offer just because of the nature of how it came. I am looking for a school that feels like home, where the staff and players treat me like I am family. All my offers are special to me. It means a lot to me hat a coach sees something in me to offer me a chance to play for their school. I am grateful for all twelve of my offers and can not wait to meet more coaches and see more colleges.
