Prospect of the Week – CeeDee Lamb
The Oklahoma Sooners commit from Richmond (Texas) Foster capped a steller high school career with an historic senior season as he caught 98 passes for 2,032 yards and 33 touchdowns on 20.7 yards per reception. He also ran four times for 35 yards. Lamb’s 33 touchdown catches are the second-most in a single season in Texas high school football history. He’s the fourth receiver in TXHSFB history eclipse the 2,000-yard mark in a season. Lamb helped Foster to a 14-1 record and Texas Class 5A D-I state semifinal appearance.
Prospect on the Rise – Thabo Mwaniki
The Oklahoma State Cowboys commit had a really big week on the recruiting trail adding new offers from schools like Baylor, TCU, and UCLA. The 5-foot-10, 180-pounder played both sides of the ball for Denton Guyer at the Texas Class 6A level and is rated as a three-star athlete. He’s expected to play in the secondary in college. He recorded 64 tackles, one interception, and nine pass breakups in 2016.
Commit of the Week – Noah Daniels
The three-star cornerback from League City (Texas) Clear Creek committed to TCU. The Frogs beat out schools such as Oklahoma, Utah, Arkansas, Baylor, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech for his services. The Frogs jumped into Daniels’ recruitment in October, when rumors started to surface the three-star corner was waffling on his Baylor commitment. “I feel as though I am a great fit in their defense,” Daniels said.
Commit Watch – Walker Little
Scout five-star Walker Little, a 6-foot-8, 301 pound offensive tackle from Bellaire (Texas) Episcopal will be making his final decision Friday. He has offers from coast-to-coast, but the decision will come down to Ole Miss, Stanford, or Texas in the Big 12 Conference.
