Football: Bear River 20, Hurricane 13
Hurricane fell to Bear River on the road Friday night. Adam Heyrend had a 44-yard interception return for touchdown for the Tigers.
Bear River will play at Dixie in the 3AA quarterfinals next week.
Football: Ridgeline 26, Snow Canyon 0
The Warriors’ season came to an end in Cache Valley against the new school, the Ridgeline Riverhawks. The Warriors finished Mike Esplin’s first season as head coach with a 3-7 overall record.
Ridgeline will come to St. George next week to play Desert Hills.
Football: South Summit 55, Enterprise 23
Enterprise’s stellar season came to an end at the hands of South Summit on Friday. The Wildcats led 52-7 at halftime and were too much for the Wolves, who finished with an 8-3 record in Andy Messersmith’s first season as head coach.
Enterprise receiver Jaylon Gardner caught a 6-yard touchdown pass toward the end of the first half. Caleb Koopmans and Ryan Holt both scored on short touchdown runs in the fourth quarter.
South Summit will play San Juan in the 2A semifinals at Weber State on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
Football: Juan Diego 42, Canyon View 14
Juan Diego jumped out to a 28-0 halftime as the Soaring Eagle was too much for the Falcons (4-7).
Isaiah Shearer scored CV’s two touchdowns, a 33-yard score in the third quarter followed by a 62-yard run in the fourth quarter.
JDCHS plays Juab in the 3A semifinals at Weber State next Friday at 4 p.m.
Football: Rich 42, Diamond Ranch 6
The defending champion Diamondbacks (4-5) fell in the first round of the 1A playoffs Friday. Rich plays Kanab in the 1A semifinals at Weber State next Friday at 1:30 p.m.
2A State Volleyball: Enterprise advances to semifinals
Enterprise handily won both its matches at the 2A state tournament at Utah Valley University on Friday.
The Wolves swept American Leadership Academy (25-9, 25-9, 25-16) before handling Emery (25-11, 25-13, 25-18).
Against ALA, the Wolves blocked 14 shots and hit 12 service aces. Jaslyn Gardner had five blocks, and Halle Drake had four aces.
Against Emery, Enterprise was led by Gardner’s 13 kills, Lacy Drake’s 10 digs and Tori Phelps’ 26 assists.
Gardner and Phelps also had 10 digs, while Sherri Platt had seven kills.
The Wolves play North Summit at 9:30 a.m. Friday with a berth in the 6 p.m. final on the line.
