Riverdale senior defensive back Gentry Bonds committed to Georgia Tech on Thursday morning in a ceremony at Riverdale High School.
He chose Georgia Tech over Clemson, Kentucky, Missouri and Nebraska. He listed those as his top five in June.
Bonds is a three-star athlete and the No. 21-ranked player in the state in the 2017 class. He was No. 7 in The Tennessean’s Dandy Dozen. The Dandy Dozen features the top senior college football prospects in Middle Tennessee as selected by The Tennessean high school sports staff with input from area high school coaches and recruiting services.
The 6-2, 192-pounder had 59 tackles (four for a loss), four interceptions and a fumble recovery in 2015.
Bonds will graduate in December and enroll to college in January.
