Rob Labritz charged up the leaderboard Monday, shooting a 3-under 69 at Turning Stone during the PGA Professional Championship. The director of golf at GlenArbor carded seven birdies, one bogey and one triple. He is tied for 15th heading into the third-round with a 2-under 142 total.
A top-20 finish comes with an invite to play the PGA Championship at Baltusrol Golf Club next month.
Labritz, 45, is seven strokes off the lead of Omar Uresti.
Winged Foot assistant Grant Sturgeon and Quaker Ridge head pro Brian Gaffney are within range, too, at 1-under par. They are tied for 23rd. Saxon Woods head pro Charlie Meola is tied for 36 at even-par 144. Apawamis head pro James Ondo also survived the cut. He is tied for 83rd at 3-over. Century assistant Frank Bensel missed the cut.
