New Albany guard and coveted 2018 five-star recruit Romeo Langford on Tuesday night received an offer from Roy Williams and the University of North Carolina.
It’s the 12th offer for the Bulldogs’ Langford, per Rivals, after LSU last offered in mid-May. The 6-foot-4, 185-pound guard adds the Tar Heels’ offer to his already loaded list of possible suitors, which includes Duke, Kentucky, Louisville, Indiana, Kansas, UCLA and Purdue.
Langford recently jumped to No. 2 on several recruiting boards, including the 2018 ESPN 60, and he backed it up with a 40-point performance at the Adidas Summer Championships in late July. Per Scout, Williams watched Langford “extensively” last month at the Adidas event, where he averaged 20.2 points and 6.2 rebounds.
A first-team all-state selection, Langford led the Bulldogs to a 27-1 record and the school’s first state championship since 1973 last season. He averaged 29.3 points and 9.3 rebounds.
