Former North Central and Purdue guard Ronnie Johnson will seek a transfer from Houston.
Johnson, a 6-foot point guard, averaged 9.4 points and 2.9 assists as a redshirt junior at Houston after transferring from Purdue. He played in 31 games and started 13.
Johnson posted on social media Monday that he is on track to graduate in May and would be eligible immediately as a fifth-year transfer.
“I plan on graduating in May and I have decided to do my 5th year somewhere else,” Johnson wrote. “This decision has nothing do with the staff. I love Htown.”
Johnson was an IndyStar Indiana All-Star out of North Central in 2012. He transferred after two seasons at Purdue. He averaged 10.8 points and 3.7 assists as a sophomore.
