Roundup: Fort Collins-area teams battle at Eaton Invitational

The Eaton High School boys golf team won its own tournament Thursday, with three Fort Collins-area teams finishing in the top 10.

Resurrection Christian placed fifth in the Eaton Invitational at plus-16. Fossil Ridge and Windsor tied for ninth at plus-22. Fort Collins was 12th at plus-31. Rocky Mountain was 14th at 37 strokes over par and Poudre was 20th at plus-47. Eaton was plus-two to win.

Resurrection Christian’s Harrison Turner, Caleb Masted and Windsor’s Sutton Hermann were the top local finishers. Each shot a round of 76 (plus-five), good for a tie at 17th place.

Roosevelt’s Tyler Severin was first with a minus-three 68.

Resurrection Christian’s Micah Ramirez tied for 22nd with a 77. Cam Nagel was Rocky Mountain’s top finisher, tying for 27th with a 78. Fossil Ridge’s top finishers were Holden Avilla and Levi Wyrick, who also tied for 27th with round of 78. Sam Hammock was Fort Collins’ top finisher with an 80 (37th place). Poudre’s top finisher was Austin Long, who tied for 40th with an 82.
