Our Lady of Lourdes High School’s Caroline Timm won the 5K in 18:12 at the Section 1 Conference 2 League D cross country meet on Wednesday at Croton Point Park.
Loughlin, Arlington wins — Riley Loughlin won the 5K race in 21 minutes, 13.2 seconds as Arlington won the Section 1 League 1A title late Tuesday at Bowdoin Park.
Other top local finishers were Arlington’s Mikayla Anderson (third, 21:47.2), John Jay’s Rachel Williams (fourth, 21:53.7), Arlington’s Madeline Garrett (fifth, 22:16.6), Emily Pinheiro (sixth, 22:35.7), Anna Mae Nellis (seventh, 22:41.3), John Jay’s Janet Geary (eighth, 22:51), Arlington’s Courtney Cunningham (ninth, 22:55.2) and John Jay’s Bella Kieser (10th, 23:15.5).
Boys cross country
Our Lady of Lourdes’ Luke Della Pietra won the 5K race in 16:55 as the Warriors won the Section 1 Conference 2 League D meet at Croton Point Park. Will Whelan was fourth, Alex Scotto was seventh, Bryan Casey was eight and Kenny Barrett was 10th for Lourdes.
Foley, Arlington win league titles — Brendan Foley won the 5K race in 17:22.2 as Arlington won the Section 1 League 1A title late Tuesday at Bowdoin Park.
Other top local finishers were John Jay’s Sean Murray (second, 18:00.3), Arlington’s Colin Waters (third, 18:00.7), Joe Morrison (fifth, 18:15.4), Max Glazowski (sixth, 18:32.5), Andrew Pfeifer (seventh, 18:33.3), Matthew Dillon (eighth, 18:35.5) and Michael Asselmeyer (ninth, 18:36.3).
Pawling defeated visiting Haldane 25-27, 25-18, 25-13, 25-10.
Jaclyn Smith had 20 kills and 15 digs for the Tigers (13-0), while Elsie Martin added 14 digs, 12 kills and five aces. Clara Lombardo had 36 assists and four aces.
Pine Plains 3, Rhinebeck 2 – Ashley Starzyk had 10 blocks and six digs as the host Bombers beat the Hawks, 12-25, 25-16, 25-23, 16-25, 25-21.
Mackenzie Burton had 11 digs for Pine Plains. Haley Strang had six digs, six assists and four blocks for Pine Plains. Bella Starzyk had four kills, two digs and an assist.
Anna Booz had 23 assists and three aces for Rhinebeck. Brooke LaRoche had four aces, eight kills and a block. Brooke LaRoche had four aces, eight kills and a block. Lauren Platt had nine kills and two blocks.
Torrington (Connecticut) 3, Faith Christian Academy 2 – Olivia Kamwela had 13 service points and nine kills for FCA in the 26-24, 22-25, 25-22, 24-26, 11-15 home loss. The Falcons are 7-2.
Roy C. Ketcham 3, Carmel 1 — Naraya Price had seven kills and two blocks to lead the visiting Indians (6-11) to a 25-16, 22-25, 25-23, 27-25 win late Tuesday.
New Paltz 3, Poughkeepsie 0 — Kelly Brinkman had four aces, six kills and four digs for the Huguenots (5-8) who won 25-12, 25-7, 25-9. Lexi Klinger had eight assists and two digs late Tuesday.
Millbrook 3, Ellenville 0 — Kayla Gusikoff had six aces, while Brooke Babbitt had three kills and eight service aces, as Millbrook defeated host Ellenville 25-5, 25-9, 25-15 late Tuesday.
Our Lady of Lourdes 3, Sleepy Hollow 0 — Jessica D’Auria had 11 kills and 12 digs for the host Warriors late Tuesday.
Saugerties 3, Highland 0 – Jillian Brennie had five digs and an ace, but the host Huskies lost 25-8, 25-9, 25-7 to the Sawyers late Tuesday.
Jenna Fusco scored on an assist from Hannah Reck, as visiting John Jay defeated Arlington 1-0 in Freedom Plains.
Alison Peritz had two saves for the Patriots (9-4-3), while Sophia Fister made three saves for the Admirals.
Late Tuesday, Jill Owens scored twice as visiting Arlington defeated Yorktown. Erin Robin and Kaitlyn Toombs also scored for Arlington.
Mahopac 2, Roy C. Ketcham 1 – Katie Wall scored for host Ketcham, which fell.
Kristin DeSousa made seven saves for Ketcham.
Ashley Benkert, Emily Benkert and Antonia DeMassio each won two events as Highland defeated host Middletown 51-50.
Middletown 68, Marlboro 33 – Shannon Camuso won two events, but Marlboro lost to host Middletown.
