Panama City Bay pitcher Marquez Oates delivered the first loss this season for the Catholic High baseball team.

Oates, a junior, tossed a four-hitter with eight strikeouts as the Tornadoes beat Catholic 4-1 in the second day of the Panama City Invitational at Bay.

Bay got all of its runs in the second inning. Catholic’s lone run came in the third inning.

Carl Gindl had two of Catholic’s hits and scored the lone run. Mackey Estrada had a double.

The Crusaders (14-1) will face Panama City-Arnold at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The tournament concludes Thursday.

Dolphins fall at home

Brandon Schrepf belted a homer in the first inning, but the Washington Wildcats responded with four runs in the fifth inning to create a 4-3 win over Gulf Breeze.

Nolan Ricketson went 2-for-2, connecting once for a double in the win.

Central shows explosive win

A field rain out at Ponce de Leon called for Central to play host Tuesday night, though the Jaguars batted second and were due to be visiting team in the second district matchup between the squads.

Aaron Robinson remained undefeated, earning his fifth win of the season as Central topped Ponce de Leon 19-0 in five innings.

Nolan Frady went 5-for-5 scoring four times in the win. Dakota Cassidy also scored four times, plating three runs as well.

Central is now 10-1 on the season and will play at Baker on Thursday at 5 p.m.

West Florida rallied for four runs in the seventh inning, but Navarre held on to preserve a 5-4 win Tuesday night.

Micah Daniel smacked two hits for the Raiders, scoring once.

Kris Reber connected for an RBI for the Jags.

Tate locks up No. 1 seed

The Tate Aggies topped Escambia 10-3 on Tuesday night to finish District 1-7A play undefeated.

With the win, the Aggies clinched the No.1 seed in the 1-7A tournament which starts April 11.

The Aggies are 16-2 on the season, and host Siegel (TN) tonight. Thursday, the team leaves for Ocala to play in the 16th annual Doc-4-Life Showdown. The Aggies will compete in two pool games on Friday, which will dictate their participation on Saturday.

Samantha Holcomb (Rocky Bayou Christian) had herself a night as Rocky Bayou topped Pensacola High 10-0.

Holcomb earned the win, which included 12 strikeouts. At the plate, Holcomb connected for two hits (one triple) and plated two runs.
