The Shadow Hills Knights baseball team rolling through the De Anza League schedule and Tuesday night was no exception.
The Knights topped Desert Hot Springs 18-0 to move to 6-0 in league play.
Sean Roby did a little bit of everything, earning the win on the mound, striking out four and allowing just three hits. He also had a home run and seven RBIs on two hits. Alex Bejjani also belted a homer and had three RBIs and three runs scored. Barrett Gonzalez added two hits, two RBIs and a run scored and J.J. Lew had two hits, including a double, and two runs scored.
Shadow Hills (13-5, 6-0) hosts Yucca Valley on Tuesday.
Palm Valley 9, Desert Chapel 4: The Firebirds won this Victory League matchup behind the pitching of Jacob Melcher and Jaxon Jabara. Izak Weintraub, Tyler Neighbors, Matt Zembo and Brian Sadler all came through at the plate. The Firebirds (6-6, 2-2) plays Redlands Adventist on Wednesday.
Xavier Prep 15, Cathedral City 14: The long drought is over as a triple by freshman Marni McDowell and key hits by Steph Sage, Xen Morrison, Lizzy Ireland and Margaux Bigos lifted the Saints to their first-ever DVL softball victory. Junior Kaitlin Manning was the winning pitcher.
Indio 8, Palm Desert 6: The Rajahs opened up an 8-1 lead and held on for the win, escaping a bases-loaded jam in the seventh for the win.
For the Aztecs in the loss, Trinity Villa went 4-for-4 and Bailey Gonzalez had three hits. The Aztecs fell to 2-2 in the DVL.
Shadow Hills 15, DHS 1 (5): The Knights’ bats were booming, belting four home runs on the day. Ayanna Murphy had three hits, two home runs, three runs and three RBIs. Amy Ibarra had two hits, a homer, two runs and four RBIs. Freshman Kara Siaz had two hits, a homer, and two runs scored. Keri Razo and Brianna Lucrecio teamed up to pitch a gem.
Desert Christian Academy 19, Redlands Adventist 0: The Conquerors breezed to a win behind ace Jahzell Estrada who allowed one hit and struck out 11. Kirsten Ranswill closed out the game, striking out two. The offense was paced by Kaylee Espinoza with four runs scored and a triple. Estrada was 3-for-3 with two runs, four RBIs and a triple. Ashley Klopfenstein scored twice and had three stolen bases. Tina Hendricks was 2-for-4 with three runs scored, three RBIs and a triple.
DCA (10-4-1, 4-0) plays at Joshua Springs on Thursday.
Palm Desert 17, Cathedral City 1: The Aztecs breezed to this Desert Valley League victory.
The only win for the Lions came from the doubles team of Mark Vogt and Sebastian Lopez.
Cathedral City is 5-5 in DVL play and hosts Xavier Prep on Thursday.
Palm Springs 13, Xavier Prep 5: The Indians won eight of the nine doubles matches to capture this league matchup. In singles, Michael Cabaguncan swept his sets 6-1, 6-0, 6-0. The doubles teams of Will Donovan and Cameron Koehler (6-1, 6-2, 6-0) and Riley Barnett and Gibby Campbell (6-4, 6-2, 6-0) both swept their matches. Picking up single points for the Indians were Sam Torabi and Miguel Lopez and the doubles teams of Ben Goehring-Julio Bojorquez and Enrique Gutierrez-Bojorquez.
The Indians (11-3, 7-2) play at La Quinta on Thursday.
