ROUNDUP: Shadow Hills water polo wins first ever playoff game

Shadow Hills High School had never played a boys’ water polo playoff game before Tuesday night. Well, they liked it so much, they’re going to play again Wednesday.

Dylan VanBuskirk scored six goals and Noah Cain and Justin Carbajal scored three goals each as the Shadow Hills Knights won their quarterfinals CIF-Southern Section Division 7 boys' water polo match on the road against Arroyo Valley.

The Knights doubled up Hemet West Valley in the Division 7 wild-card round 20-10 to advance to play La Sierra on the road today at Hillcrest High School.

In Tuesday’s win, Dylan VanBuskirk matched Hemet West Valley by himself, scoring 10 goals. Shane Reynolds added four goals and Tristan Leon had three.

Wednesday’s game will start at 5 p.m.

Women’s golf

COD: Both LiChi Liu and Kabrea Rosas qualified for the state tournament with fine efforts at the Southern California Regionals on Tuesday. Liu shot 77 and 75 in the two-day tournament. Rosas shot 77 and 82, and the team finished fifth.
