A high school basketball pipeline is in the making at Saint Michael Lutheran School in Fort Myers.

The St. Michael’s middle school girls basketball team secured its second national championship in three years with a 31-23 win over Christ Community Lutheran School of Kirkwood, Missouri in the Lutheran Basketball Athletic Association’s championship game on March 20 in Valparaiso, Indiana.

In the semifinals of the tournament, St. Michael’s defeated Concordia Lutheran School of San Antonio, Texas, 33-28. The girls also beat teams from Illinois, Indiana and California.

The St. Michael girls team finished its season a perfect 17-0.
