This game for the OSAA Class 3A state championship features No. 12 seed Salem Academy (10-2) and No. 3 seed Harrisburg (9-3). The Crusaders, who have won eight straight, are in the state championship game for the first time since winning the state title in 1989. Harrisburg, which has won four straight, is in the state title game for the second time in three years. As the No. 12 seed, Salem Academy is the lowest seeded team in one of Saturday’s state championship games, but in 6A No. 14 seed Tigard is still alive in the semifinal round.

This is a rematch of a week four non-league game at Stanfield which Regis lost 20-14. The Rams led 14-12 in the fourth quarter of that game, but Thyler Monkus ran for a five-yard touchdown for Stanfield, and Stanfield’s defense stopped Regis on fourth down. No. 1 seed Regis (10-2) is in the state championship game for the 12th time in school history and the first time since 2013. No. 2 seed Stanfield (11-1) is in the state championship for the first time since 1957.
