The baseball and softball teams advanced in the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament preliminary round – each with a no-hitter.
On the softball field, Kelly Duffy allowed no hits, struck out nine and walked three as the ninth-seeded Bombers beat East Brunswick Tech, 20-0. Mary Kate Kersting went 2-for-2 with a double, three RBIs and four runs scored while Kayla Stvan went 1-for-2 with a double, four RBIs and two runs scored.
On the baseball field, Pete Soporowski struck out 11 as he no-hit J.F. Kennedy in a 6-0 victory. Kennedy batters reached base on two errors and two walks.
Joe Polomene and Kyle Richards had two RBI apiece for the Bombers. Sean McDonnell scored twice.
The baseball and softball teams now advance to first-round games.
