Two players who were expected to shine at the Texas 7v7 state tournament were DeSoto’s Shawn Robinson and Pearland’s Connor Blumrick. And shine they did. Both Robinson, a TCU commit, and Blumrick, a future Texas A&M Aggie, led their respective teams to the championship bracket with their play Friday.

Robinson, who just transferred into DeSoto, values the experience.
“It helps me a lot,” he said. “It helps me get in sync with the receivers and learn the offense better since I am new to the team. So it definitely helps.”
Blumrick echoed those sentiments.
“It gets my feet right,” he said. “It helps the whole team with timing, tempo, and coverages. So It is great that we get to come out here and do it”
