The Greater Lansing Hall of Fame Softball Classic will have to wait a couple of days to officially get started.

Saturday’s four opening-round contests of the single-elimination tournament were postponed due to rainy conditions in the Lansing area.

Tournament director Bob Every said the tournament will start Monday at Ranney Park. Opening-round games are planned for 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Eaton Rapids and DeWitt will meet in the opener Monday with Grand Ledge facing Mason in the second game. Tuesday’s contests are Laingsburg against Lakewood at 5 p.m. and Holt and Morrice in the second contest.

The semifinals are slated for 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday and the championship game is 6 p.m. Friday.

Holt is the defending champion and knocked off St. Johns for its first Softball Classic title last season. Eaton Rapids has won the tournament five of the last seven years.

Morrice, Laingsburg and Lakewood will each be trying to win the Softball Classic for the first time.
