Alexis Lamere hit a one-out walkoff single that scored Kiley Besko in the eighth inning as the Arlington High School softball team edged Cornwall High School, 8-7, in the Red Hook Invitational softball tournament on Friday.
The Admirals rallied from down 7-2 in the second inning. Rachel Vecchiarelli’s RBI single tied it at 7 in the sixth inning.
Lamere went 5 for 5 with two doubles and four RBI to lead the Admirals (2-1). Tracey Rancourt and Cecilia McPeck each had an RBI. Rachel Brideau allowed one hit and struck out six in seven scoreless innings of relief.
Arlington faces Marlboro at noon Saturday.
Red Hook 13, Taconic Hills 4 — Grace Folmsbee went 3 for 5 with a double and four RBI to lead the Raiders in the Red Hook Invitational tournament.
Eighth-grader Alexis Murphy allowed six hits and struck out four in six innings to earn the win. Nicole Marici went 2 for 4 with two runs, and Brooke Corbett hit an RBI double.
Red Hook faces the winner of the Rhinebeck/Duanseburg game at noon Saturday.
Marlboro 7, Pine Plains 3 — Cassie Lapointe went 4 for 4 to lead Marlboro in the Red Hook Invitational tournament.
Ashley Votta was 3 for 4 with two triples, and Sara Cerone and Allison Swartz each went 2 for 4.
John Jay 25, Carmel 0 — Ally Muller struck out five over two innings without allowing a hit while Megan Schumacher relieved her and allowed no hits over three innings.
At the plate, Schumacher finished 3 for 6 with two runs and four RBI. Muller was 2 for 3 with three runs scored and an RBI.
John Jay (5-0) hosts Clarkstown South on Saturday.
Spackenkill 9, Onteora 2 — Morgan Wiley went 3 for 4 with three singles and two RBI for the visiting Spartans. Lexie Close was 3 for 4 with three singles.
Gabby Mastrantuono struck out nine batters for Spackenkill (4-1), which hosts Webutuck on Monday.
Pawling 24, Peekskill 2 — Katie Meyer pitched a complete game four-hitter and struck out nine for the visiting Tigers. At the plate she scored three runs.
Kayla Chavarri tripled and drove in three runs, while Emma Huebel doubled in a run. Samantha Smith finished 2 for 2 with two RBI for Pawling (5-0), which visits Pleasantville Monday.
Rondout Valley 16, Poughkeepsie 2 — Jenna Salmonese finished 2 for 3 for the host Pioneers.
Poughkeepsie (0-4) hosts Wallkill Monday.
Franklin D. Roosevelt 10, Saugerties 0 — Alyssa Pfitscher pitched a one-hitter with 13 strikeouts to lead host Roosevelt late Thursday.
Pfitscher carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning before allowing a one-out single.
“Her curveball was really good and she was locating her fastball,” Roosevelt coach Steve Nilsen said. “She mixed up her pitches and that kept the batters off-balance. A lot of her strikeouts were looking.”
Amanda Owens went 4 for 4 with two RBIs for the Presidents (4-1).
Roosevelt hosts Highland at 4:15 p.m. Monday.
Pine Plains 25, Webutuck 2 — Alex McKenzie had three hits for the visiting Bombers late Thursday.
Kaylie Johnson, Cassidy Watt and Kat Nethercott had hits for the Warriors.
