I wish that I could say my fourth rainout out of six planned games to cover was an aggravating reality, but yesterday was the exception. As some of you may know, I recently wrote a book (it’s not about sports), and the physical copies finally showed up on my doorstep at 2:45 p.m. So yeah, it was anything but an aggravating day.
It’s currently 9:30 a.m. as I’m typing this and it is beautiful outside, so we should get plenty of terrific weather and softball in today.
We did get one result Tuesday, so here’s what happened around the section:
Pearl River 11, Nyack 0: Emily Turilli and Tara MacGregor combine for a two-hit shutout, allowing one hit each. Turilli struck out 11 batter. Jesse McCarthy went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Caroline Alicandri went 3-for-5 with two runs and Maggie Ryan added an RBI for the Pirates.

Wednesday’s plans: I’m ahead up to Putnam County to see Mahopac host Arlington. I didn’t get to see the Indians last year, and since we don’t cover the Admirals, this the bet to see what should be a competitive Class AA team. I honestly have no idea what to expect in this one, but I am excited to see both teams in action.
