The Mike and the Mad Dog Reunion Show last night, for those that did not attend/watch/listen was tremendous. I even scored a picture with Steve Schirripa (better known as Bobby Bacala from ‘The Sopranos’). Fun times. Back to softball — pretty much lopsided affairs down the slate, but we did have at least one milestone (that we know about).
Here’s what happened around the section:
Tappan Zee 19, Clarkstown South 4: Nicole Spiegelberg had a home run and a double, including her 100th career varsity hit in the win. Stephanie Cambrea added four hits for the Dutchies.
Panas 20, Carmel 5: Remi Urreta hit a grand slam in the five-inning win. Gabby Pacheco and Julia Petrovich also homered for the Panthers, driving in two and three runs on the day, respectively. Danielle Petrovich and Sam Recine each drove in two in the win.
Port Chester 15, Ossining 4: Eighth-grader Brooklyn Ostrowski homered in the win.

Thursday’s plans: I’ll be pinch-hitting (pardon the pun) for the good folks at USA TODAY High School Sports today and tomorrow, covering the DICK’S National High School basketball tournament at Christ The King. As I mentioned yesterday, I’ll be sliding head first (OK, that one was just awful) into softball starting next week. Please send all results to email@example.com or tweet @lohudsports tonight and tomorrow!
