As Bellarmine spring sports head into the end of March, many of the teams are heading into full swing.
Boys Soccer: After two league games, the team holds a 1-0-1 record due to the 5-0 defeat of Timberline and a 2-2 tie against Stadium. The team is headlined by junior defender Tommy Martin, who earned first team all-league honors as a sophomore and senior goalie Dylan Zurfluh who also earned first team all league as a junior. Also, senior Robert Nurmi earned first team all-league honors as a junior. Their next game is against Thomas Jefferson at Thomas Jefferson at 7 p.m.
Girls Tennis: The girls tennis team has played only one match, a non-league 3-2 victory against North Thurston. March 19, the varsity team tied for first in the Mountainview Invitational in Vancouver, Washington. The team is captained by seniors Megan Manke, MacKenzie Harris and Simren Rai.
Track and Field: The girls track team was victorious over South Kitsap in their first track meet Thursday at home. Though the boy’s track and field team was without many of their top competitors leading to a loss On their side, they gave a tough effort including many personal records. Both sides look to continue their successes in a meet Thursday at home against a strong Olympia team.
Boys Golf: This team is the defending 4A State Champions and they are returning all six players who qualified for the state tournament. They won their first match against Shelton by a decisive margin and have their next match against Central Kitsap on Thursday at Kitsap Golf and Country Club.
Girls Golf: The team is defending a six year consecutive 4A state title streak as they are returning many of their players. The team looks to continue their winning ways against Central Kitsap on Thursday.
Boys Lacrosse: The boys lacrosse team is 1-1. They were victorious over south Kitsap yesterday 24-1. Led by 7 seniors, this is looking like a promising season for the team.
Girls Lacrosse: The team has had two games so far this season and hold a record of 1-1. They have a game Thursday at 5:30 at SERA Field against Mount Tahoma. Senior Captain Emi Klein leads the team as they look to capture the league title for the second year in a row.
Fastpitch: The team looks to rebound from a tough loss in their first game against Puyallup in which they lost 18-8. Their next game is against Curtis.
