The flipping between St. Benedict’s Prep (Newark, N.J.) and St. Ignatius (Cleveland) continues at the top of the USA TODAY Sports/National Soccer Coaches Association Super 25 for boys soccer.
After sharing the Super 25 title last season, St. Benedict’s was on top in the preseason; St. Ignatius was No. 1 in the first rankings of the regular season. Now, St. Benedict’s is back on top.

St. Benedict’s got the boost after rallying for a 3-1 victory against then-No. 21 Chaminade (Mineola, N.Y.), which moved up to No. 14 by virtue of its strong play.
St. Ignatius played to a 1-1 tie against Cardinal Gibbons (Raleigh) and is 5-0-1.
Rockhurst (Kansas City) remained in the No. 3 spot, followed by Salesianum (Wilmington, Del.), which jumped from No. 6 to No. 4 after winning its season opener in impressive fashion, 8-2. Fairview (Boulder, Colo.) remains No. 5.
Newcomers to the top 10 include Walt Whitman (Huntington Station, N.Y.), which moved from No. 15 to No. 7; Lewiston (Maine) at No. 8; and Olathe East (Olathe, Kan.), which went from No. 11 to No. 9. Lewiston was just outside the Super 25 last week among others receiving votes.
Eight schools that were not ranked last week join the Super 25 led by No. 13 McMinnville (Ore.) as well as No. 15 Hanover (N.H.), No. 16 Stillwater (Minn.) Regional, No. 19 Marquette (Chesterfield, Mo.), No. 20 Rush Henrietta (Henrietta, N.Y.), No. 22 Moses Brown School (Providence, R.I.), No. 24 Middleton (Wis.) and No. 25 Conestoga (Berwyn, Pa.).
